[Feature-Request]
Hi iScribble,

It would be interesting to be able to create a room with a vertical (portrait) oriented drawing box as opposed to a horizontal (landscape) one. Then artists would be able to do full body characters at a decent size. Perhaps the chatbox and such could be moved accordingly then.

Hello Hello. So big problem here well Not really more of laziness but people can get through it but we all know how we have that kind of impatience for deleting a private board on iScribble. So its just an idea i got from Mod PU here and I asked her if there was a way to delete all my privates boards at once, sadly there was no way for that to happen just yet. but for future sake it saves more time and plus people really wound't be annoyed by it it will help us a lot as a "emergency" case if we really want to delete all our boards. But yes that's the idea.

I was wondering if you guys ever considered an idea with the "# friends online" thing.
like what if we were able to click on it and see which one of you friends are on, so you can go hang with them on a board or something like that?

-why do our drawings lose quality after being published?
-i sometimes encounter an empty lobby with "(usercount)" in place of my online friends, refreshing doesn't help and i can't get into any boards. after some time it gets back to normal.

Commented by Moderator: The images lose quality for the same reason that saving an image from Photoshop will lose quality. They're saved with a jpeg encoding which isn't a lossless format. In other words, it tries to compress the file size for storage and has to lose color data in the process.

Commented by Moderator: As for the (usercount) and boards being empty, that's caused by network issues. It means it failed to receive that information from the server and, aside from adjusting your network for better performance, refreshing the page is your best option.

Hello! I came online after a short time of not coming on, and wow, there's a huge change! It'll take some getting used to, but that comes with everything, right?

Just out of curiosity, will the "chat lock" option ever come back? It was great for roleplays when multiple people are typing and you're trying to read a specific thing someone said. That way you're not getting chucked back to whenever someone types something new. Thank you for your time! (:

Commented by Moderator: There is no longer a need for the scroll lock button as the chat automatically stops scrolling when you scroll up and resumes when you scroll back to the bottom.

Awesome replay function you guys implemented! Although can I suggest an option that the person who publishes can decide to toggle replay on or off? Surely sometimes serious drawings have a really..interesting replay beforehand.

Everyone says the brush size selector is fixed now, good job ^_^

I have been getting several complaints (And have experienced myself) a problem where the first click of a brush selection doesn't seem to respond. Here's the steps on how to reproduce it:

Draw a little bit on the board.
Click on a different brush size.
If you click anything besides the largest one, it will likely not do anything, or take several clicks for it to respond.

Current workaround is to click the largest size, which appears to "unfreeze" it, and then to click on the one you wanted.
It's a bit tedious but should work until a fix is done.

Commented by Moderator: There was a release earlier today that fixed an issue with selecting the brush size. I'm not sure if this is what you were referring to; however, I was unable to reproduce the problem you described. Please try to reproduce it yourself, again, and let us know if it's still an issue.

Hi, if the board filter is now possible, would it also be possible to add a board search? I get lost in my private boards :c

Another one, would be nice having two buttons for favorite private boards - to remove from favorites and to delete completely, its a pain looking for it in general private boards after the drawing is finished.

Since iscribble changed it's interface, I've been having a lot of like.. lag issues? this wasn't a problem before and I could draw fast and smoothly, but now there's some sort of delay with drawing and tool switching? I've tried switching from IE to Chrome but Chrome is even worse. I know it's not just me since a few of my friends are also experiencing the same problems.

hey man i have a suggestion on the board

firstly when you are on the board where it says friends it would be great if you can click it and it goes like a drop down list and shows you who is online i think it would be quicker and easier then the /list command http://snag.gy/6U2WL.jpg

lastly when your in lobby where it shows your list of friends it would be great if you can click them and it takes to the board they are at again i think it would be quicker and easier then the /join command. thanks for taking the time to read

Not a serious issue but the board users glitches out of the box when the browser is resized.

Several people have reported issues with their chat such as a reset chatbox size and an issue with scrolling. iScribble is aware of these changes and is working on them.

@Ghost sounds to me like a flash issue. I'd double check she's got flash version 9 loaded (link is bottom of home page). If she has, uninstall and reinstall!

"ffng.: im useing google chrome ive been using it forever for this site and as i logged in today my screen automatically just began zooming in all the way its stuck right now and i tried going to all my zoom settings and web contact and everything apparantly is zoomed out to its max and i can see all the pixels on the site and when i draw now its all wobbly and ii know its not my tablet but its only happening onto the site"

Why is it, that in the year 2014 of our Lord Jesus Christ, iScribble insists on having only the option to clear all offline messages as opposed to selected ones? This is heresy in the eyes of G-d.

Registration is indeed broken again but will be fixed asap. The process of making an account is as followed; user makes account via registration form - confirmation link is sent to email to test if legitimate - once the confirmation link is confirmed accounts have to be manually approved before 24hours or they are auto accepted. It is a bit time consuming but there are often issues with inappropriate account names that need to be rejected or people making double accounts. Improving the registration process is something we would like to fix in the future as well.

Will let you know once they work again. Please remind your friend to resubmit her registration form!

How long does it take for people to get their activation e-mails?
Trying to invite any friends to iscribble is a massive pain, about 90% of them just give up on the idea.

To make matters worse, some e-mails can't be used, so they have to make one, and most don't even try at that stage because why should they have to make a new e-mail account just to sign up? It's all very frustrating.

One has waited for several days and still has not gotten the e-mail.
I haven't registered in so long myself, though, that I don't know exactly how it works.

Commented by subst: If it's not just a short lag and you keep getting the error all the time you can try that one fix mentioned here on this page under "Known bugs".Also if you have recently updated you browser/flash you can try going back to the previous versions of those or try another browser.Then also if you are on wifi try switching to cable or getting a better signal at least, and finally you can try to check if your connection is not being blocked by a firewall or proxy.

Hello, I am having an issue logging in. On my account when I log in no users show up on the list, also no boards appear.
When I log in as a guest, the users and boards appear!
Anyone know this issue?

It would be nice if I could clear all the banned accounts out of my friends list. ): It really hogs space up

Commented by subst: Sorry, but currently there's no easy way of doing that.It's not possible to friend or unfriend multiple users at once nor sort/filter the list.Even more, closed accounts can't be removed through their profile page, you can do this only by using a chat-command: /unfriend [username]. (Note: closed accounts are not automatically removed from the friends-list because they are not being deleted, not all of them represent bans and not all of the bans are permanent.)

Are you guys aware that untrusted users can effectively do a board clear by just drawing white on the top layer and merging down?
If you try and clear, it will say you have insufficient rights. If you merge, it will go through with it if nobody is in the board to vote otherwise.

/undo also works for untrusted.

I'm not sure why board clears are locked, the only significant change for a trusted is that a trusted user can invite more people to a board.

I haven't tested to see if this works on hybrid boards.

Commented by subst: You're right - the main purpose of /trust is to delegate the right to /invite.It would perhaps make more sense if the board-clearing command were available upon the initial /invite.This is nothing new though, it has always been like that :p

I am using Win 7 and lately whenever I come online, the lobby page of Iscribble will show public, private and user list as complete blanks (e.g. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic... ) and when I do manage to get into a board, everytime I try to hop out the board freezes and I couldn't get to the lobby page again. I am not sure if it's the problem with my computer or there is a bug within iscribble's server itself as the same problem occurred in all of the browsers I use.

If they still aren't, then I'm not exactly sure how to help you but I just wanted to let you know that we aren't ignoring this. I haven't heard of this happening before. It was probably a side effect of the maintenance that occurred a couple days back. Try re-installing a browser like chrome, or clearing the cookies and caches for the site.

iScribble has switched servers as of November 23, 2013 because the disk space has been getting low on the previous server. There may be some speed improvements for some users but nothing huge as the server is still located in Switzerland. There is a larger bandwidth now available.

Since this change we are aware of some issues users have been experiencing with server freezes and disconnections, frozen boards, unable to access private boards, unable to upload pictures and a broken login. We are working to resolve these matters as soon as we can. Please let us know if anything else comes up!

Edit - These should all be fixed now.

Uhm... I am currently using windows 8 but my pen doesnt work on iscribble. It keeps clicking when I want to draw. Is there anything I can do about it to make it work? (downloading a driver doesnt work D: )

Commented by RedString: You may want to check your tablet and pen preferences to make sure your pen is installed correctly and configured to the proper commands? If the pen works on other softwares like ms paint or the deviant-art drawing canvas then it should work on iScribble as well. Get back to us if the pen works on those programs but still not on iScribble.

Hey guys, I am getting A LOT of complaints from people who are trying to make iscribble accounts, all of them saying that they get the error "User could not be created"

I've had them try registering with e-mails which are not blocked, and they've tried using random names to remove the possibility of it being one that's already taken.

What's going on here? It's like no new users can sign up.
I'm not sure what to tell them, any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Commented by RedString: Hmm, I just tried to make a test account as well and I got the same message. My best guess is that during the server switch yesterday something went wrong. I will notify the administrators and see what can be done about it. In the meantime I hope they can utilize the guest feature and get to know some of our community (: I or another moderator will get back to you asap.

Commented by RedString: There have been many glitches in the system and we speculate they evolve around the issue of switching to a new server. Try logging out and logging back into your account and see if that does anything to fix the issue.
